Hey all - in the middle of overclocking a new system with the specs below.

As you'll see I have a dual-core AMD 64 3800+... I'm checking for my Max FSB first and lowered my CPU multiplier to 5x... Bios and reboot flashscreen show it correctly, but CPU-Z shows my multiplier as remaining the stock 10x... Anyone know why?

I'm guessing the fact that it's a dual-core is freaking it out a bit - I dunno...

Anyway - was just wondering.. thanks for any info

AFAIK the VSTA edition doesn't support multiplier changes. Someone tell me this is right
Oh yeah, BTW. It could also be because of that you have all 4 RAM Slots filled up. Try with only 2 and see if it helps (Note, let them sit in dual channel, so in slot 0 and 2, not slot 1 and 2)

There may be some thing wrong, but that may be because we have different boards, tyr the multi at 7 that usually works
