I'm gonna make this concise as I need quick response

read up on some stuff, downloaded TCPoptimizer

used the "optimal" function, it did regedits, and stuff, rebooted

now I try to connect to EA Servers via Bad Company 2, I get "connection failed"

CS:S seems to be working much better (placebo effect?) regardless, it works..
Web browsing is DEFINITELY faster (so I want to keep it)

Suggestions on fix? Diagnosing? Help!!!

Turns out EA servers were down for 5 minutes, I was the one failing

Placebo. Garbage article.
You'd gain a lot more performance web browsing with an on-site caching proxy.
