They do a fine job, but if you have a few hours and want to save some money, get this and do it yourself. It will save you the trip to your local hardware store too.
Let them do it, especially if you never did it before. Also saves you time trying to get all the parts -- for $15, it's even a steal, as it's not an hour or more for you sanding it down!
I've lapped a TRUE and I've had one lapped by them.
Both turned out great! I spent about $11 on sandpaper and a few hours lapping on my own.

I used more sandpaper than that on my lapping. I went to autozone and I bought 2 packs of large (10x10) assorted (200/600/800/1000) and cut each piece into 3rds (total 6 pieces of each grit=24 sheets). I don't think that 5 pieces of 4.5x5.5 will do.
What I'm trying to say is that 8 bucks more is worth getting it done. Of course it is cool to say you lapped your own.
Their customer service rocks, too! I'm sure if they did fudge it up, they'd pay for it to be shipped back and redone.
