For no real reason today I ran HD Tune Pro on both of my drives and to my suprise my boot drive showed a warning for 9 counts of Ultra DMA CRC Error Count. As I understand, this could be caused by a faulty SATA cable. I've recenlty started having random system crashes/freezes, the most recent of which was a System Service Exception BSOD. Could this have any relation to what may be causing the SRC Errors on my drive (i.e. a faulty SATA cable or the hard drive controller)?

have you tried just switching the cables for the boot and storage drives? It doesn't sound like you got errors on the other one.

I have not tried that and no, there are no errors stored for the other drive. I'm not exactly sure when the errors occurred on the boot drive since this is the first time I've looked at its health since purchasing it 2 years ago. I suppose I can do that though.
