Critique and a few questions...

Hey, I'd appreciate a little input if possible regarding this build.

As this is the first PC I am building with a little advise from others who know alot more than I do on this, I am a little unsure as to whether this is THE best I could build on my budget of £700-£800. I am certain my friends have REALLY helped me get the best for my money, but I'd like to also know what you guys think. So please critique my build and perhaps suggest what I could do in terms of overclocking etc.

A few questions:
  • Is this fairly "future proof"? I do understand that PC's don't last long, but I'm not looking to upgrade for at least 2 years.
  • Would 1 30gb SSD have been better than 2 80gb SATA's running in RAID0?
  • Motherboard supports 3 GFX cards, so if I should invest in another GTX 260 is there enough power with the 550 modular PSU?
  • Is there enough cooling if I decide I do infact want to add another GFX card or overclock?
  • Have I done the best I could considering budget?
Cheers guys.

It looks good. I'd change the P7N to a P45 though.

He has an 80GB and a 1TB for storage it looks like.

Although I wouldn't pay that price for an 80GB Barracuda at only 7200RPMs?

It's 2 Barracuda's at that price. Could've saved £10 if I had bought them elsewhere but I would prefer them delivered together.

Also, @ Bellatrix, why the P45 over the P7N mate? Not questioning your logic, but would like to understand it so that I may know what to look for in future.

PLEASE help

Think I may have bought incompatible memory as the mobo states it supports DDR2 533/667/800 and I've purchased Kingston 4GB which runs @ 1066Mhz.

Have I bought the wrong memory? lol

You might just have to downlock the memory (should do it automatically), it's worked for me in the past.

DDR2 1066 is just overclocked DDR2 800.

that memory will work fine and run at rated speed. i wouldnt have touched that mobo but whats done is done.
I would have picked a different mobo, and that processor won't let you squeeze much more than mine can when overclocked, might even cause a bottleneck with the gtx 260, and I would have opted for the thermaltake big typhoon instead, much better cooler.
If it were me, I would switch the PSU for a corsair.
