Hey, I am building a computer for the first time and i am wondering if i can use an ATI GFX card in an nVidia based mobo.
ATI seems to have the best low-end bang for the buck.

Believe it or not, I did it, using the X850XT on the A8N-SLi Deluxe Board. I wouldn't suggest using it in crossfire, but you'd have an interesting hack to talk about if and when you got it fully completed. Good luck with that.

In my personal and honest opinion, though..... if you're going ATI with an ATI rig, try an ATI southbridge chipset. The best ones built are the Xpress 3200 chipsets, so keep an eye out for those.

Nvidia, the same..... go for type specifics. You know they work.

Go for the nvidea chipset with an ati card. No hack required.

Oh really? Thats good. Thanks for telling me.
I guess Zorpnic just got the regular results and didnt get lucky
I think i will go ATI because you get 256 bit memory and GDDR3 for cheaper.
Thank You

Ok, heres a build which would soon be diminished by Chozarts ^^

Not sure if that will work, tell me if it doesn't.

EDIT: Oops, forgot the ram, hang on, let me sort this out.

I'd like to see proof of this one.
There's only a couple of configurations available through crossfire, what with the cable you need, and the various types of dongle ends on them. I don't see how it'd be possible to do it, without losing a monitor/DVI-I. Find out who it was, if you can, and post it here.
