OK, so a while ago I was just about to buy a kit of OCZ ddr3 1600 platinum ram, but once reading all the reviews on newegg I decided to go with a more reliable brand, So far I have come to these 2:

Which would me better for OC'in on a gigabyte EP45T-DS3R mobo?

BumP!!!
The thing that has me confused is the timings, Crucial has 8-8-8-24 while
Corsair has 9-9-9-24 timings, wondering which one you guys recommend for overclocking and for better performance / stability.

Crucial, for sure.
Anything but crucial please, they're terrible in recent years. Spend the extra 15 and get this, plus you'll get triple the amount

That's RAM for an i7 setup. Also, I've had no problems with Ballistix Memory.

I'd personally buy the This set.

That's ram for any ddr3 setup, they just specify as a feature that it's compatible with i7. :|

Also, I had a pair of ballistix tracers die and I told them the reason was because the sticks were single sided, the representative continued to tell me I was wrong and I would not be given double sided if I RMA'd. Their famed customer support isn't even good anymore. G.skill/mushkin/corsair are now the generally preferred ram companies.

umm, i have ocz reapers, the 1066mhz ones, and personally, i hate them, they barely o/c 30mhz even with adding .1v to them, really wish i didn't get them. I love my dominators tho, i will for sure buy nothing but corsair for now!

Both the Ballistix(new ones anyway) and XMS3 are pretty much crap for OCing.

If it has to be one of these I would say the Corsair. I'm a Crucial fan, but the new 2.0v sticks are total crap.

These crucial kit runs @ 1.8v not 2.0 as you stated^, so once again, which would give me more stability, overclockability of both of these sticks??

I can get the sorsair for $55 USD crucial for $60 USD. whats stops me is that the crucial has a lower CL than the corsair, just wondering which is more worth it as well as more overclockable on a p45 chipset board.

Note that these are DDR3 sticks.

my crucial ballistix do cas 4 800mhz 1.8v im sure they could go higher, they are pretty FTW.
Out of the two the Crucail kit would be fast. It's same speed with tighter timings.

Though, this is DDR3. I was thinking DDR2. Sorry I didn't click links at first.

What mobo are you using?

I will be using a gigabyte EP45T-DS3R, I plan to Overclock a E8400 to 4ghz+ So ram must be good, and of course it should stay cool. The debate continues, not sure still which is better, some say crucial some say corsair.

Based on stock timings and mhz the Crucial will perform better before OCing.
