A thought ocurred to me that the pci-e slot can be used as a landmark to size up other elements of the card. I measured for the width and height of the gpu mount, realising later that the vertical distortion will not be proportional, although the horizontal proportions should be constant.<br />
<br />
x18/x1900 and 78/7900 cards have a 53mm square mounting pattern for the gpu.<br />
<br />
The GF8800 seems to be at least 58mm square, just enough that current coolers wont fit without some modification.<br />

That means a whole new line of coolers for gpu's.. great..

Im thinkin with some gpu stuff you might be able to drill new holes, or widen out the old ones<br />

That big IHS is screaming to have a pelt stuck directly to it...
