I'm really into making my own cases on the cheap. My current testament to such design is my K8 build in a milk crate.

Now, I was walking through Target and inspiration smacked me in the face. They sell crates by Itso (Target subbrand), and for a little under $15 I have this new base for a case.

I need some ideas for things beyond the basic layout. I'm going to be turning this into the replacement for my Xigmatek Utgard, and I'd like to have something beyond the basic. I'll be making panels to cover the cables on the bottom, and the center shelf will be the motherboard tray. I'll be moving that down with some new holes for it to latch to. There are also doors available, and I plan to get one soon.
