Off-Guard indeed, they declined PS4 until their announcement about 20th Feb, most of the developers and gamers were thinking new consoles wont appear before 2014..

Well played Sony? LOL they didn't even reveal what the final design looks like and the hardware specs are still not set in stone. The few snapshots we got of the UI looks absolutely horrendous, its like a mess between Metro, Facebook and WMC. Right now they are playing catchup with features the 360 already has. For example the Playstation App for iOS + Android is merely a clone of SmartGlass. Microsoft are going to blow Sony out of the water with their announcement in April. If the rumours are true and the PS4 will cost over 400$ you can bet Microsoft are going to undercut them, just like they did with the 360.

I'm not up to date with most of what you said but I'm glad I'm not the only one who considered their "Announcement" as a rushed job to attempt to beat Microsoft. Besides the whole "Sony employee says Microsoft will respond in April" sounds like total nonsense. If Sony can keep a tight lip on their announcement then why would Sony staff know about Microsofts without even any hints reaching out to the public?

Don't forget that Microsoft announced their consoles at a one-off media event in 2005 that aired on the MTV network, so if Microsoft does the same, I hardly see how that's desperation of any kind when they set precedent.

why is everyone complaning about the price point (that has not even been set in stone) i will gladly pay $600+ if the hardware is there... you guys do realize the 360 was going for like 600-700 when it came out back in 2005.

AMD APU is going in to the next Xbox, not i7-3770.
