I'm not the least bit surprised that the Wall Street Journal is reporting that VMware will be buying Novell's Linux business. After all, I suggested that VMware could really use Novell's SUSE Linux for its future, and I also knew that Novell was in hot and heavy merger and acquisition talks earlier this week. My own sources have also now confirmed that VMware is Novell's suitor.

Cannot say I am happy about this seeing what VMWare has done to openSolaris (and possible OpenOffice soon)...

VMware =\\= Oracle
VMware server =\\= Oracle/Sun Virtualbox

OOo is also Oracle's product.

VMWare did something to openSolaris and OpenOffice?

Couldn't have been worse than what Oracle did.

Lol... way to early in the morning... what I meant to say was:

Cannot say I am happy about this seeing what Oracle has done to openSolaris (and possible OpenOffice soon)...

But that would also have been incorrect as I got VMWare and Virtualbox mixed up... so phew, at least it isn't Oracle getting Novell...
