hi, my first post here
glad i found this place, i will remember it.

i have not found much info about using a D805 with a motherboard with onboard video that will overclock well. this is my first INTEL system i will be overclocking (taken a few AMD processors way past spec)...and am looking for a cheap upgrade.

is it even possible to overclock with onboard video...will any mobos let u lock the AGP/PCI-X to 66/100, and PCI to 33? memory dividers?

i hope someone can help clear my mind...im new to this intel thing

First, welcome to the forum! Enjoy your stay.

Generally, boards with onboard video are poor overclockers.

These boards are not designed with overclocking in mind, and often lack advanced settings, in many cases including lockable PCI busses and so on.

One of the few boards I know that are mATX and have onboard video are on the AMD side of things (Biostar tForce and a few others). On the Intel side, I don't know of any good ones to be honest.

What is your budget for this upgrade?? Maybe there are other options.

hmmm...i think im gonna scrap onboard video and use an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB AGP instead (already have one)

i guess i have to find a motherboard with locked AGP/PCI, FSB adjustment, RAM frequency/timing. being able to change the voltages, and unlocked D805 multiplier woould be very nice, if possible.

dont wanna spend any more than $120 on a MB or so...hopefully around $85...any ideas?
