Hi everyone. I have a question about memory bandwidth. I am using 4GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 PC3-12800. I have them clocked at 1600MHz and the timings are 8-8-8-24
When I run SANDRA memory bandwidth benchmark it is sometimes 12.8 GB/s and sometimes 15 Gb/s. I do not understand the drastic fluctuation and to be honest, I guess I expected more. I had my old OCZ Gold DDR2 doing almost 13 GB/s. Am I doing something wrong or expecting too much?

The biggest jump you'll see (when you get a processor/motherboard that can utilize it) is in changing from dual channel to triple channel.

Otherwise, when running DDR3, all you've got is the equivalent of slightly faster DDR2 RAM.
