Im looking to build a server for $400 and im getting this mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813186090
its cheap and it has integrated graphics which is nice (again, this is not going to be for gaming) but it supports DDR1 and DDR2. Im guessing 2 of the slots are for DDR1 and 2 are for DDR2 but maby all the slots are for either. Im looking at getting 1 GB of ram to start with and maby upgrading later and I was wondering....

#1 if I could mix and match DDR1 and DDR2 which i doubt i could / would cause problems
#2 what is the performance differences between DDR400 and DDR2 533 in terms of running a Counter-Strike Source Server

Also if a mobo says
DDR2 Standard: DDR2 667
I cant use DDR1 memory in it can I?

It'll most likely end up being half and half. DDR and DDR2 sticks are physically different in that one has more mins than the other (184 vs. 240 respectively). When looking for memory I'd say look for some decent RAM (you don't really need anything designed for speed here) that'll run your system without causing any crashes.

I'd go with anyone one of those (the cheaper ones if it were me), I think the biggest thing to look for would be to ensure they are ECC sticks. In servers data accuracy is more important than speed.
