It says 1.8Ghz DDR3 at specs, and for the XTX 2.0Ghz DDR4. I'm getting confused. Should it be 1.8Ghz DDR4 then? Would make sense then because obviously the XT should have lower clocks then the XTX.

The 256MB version you have linked is indeed DDR3. I don't think they want to waste GDDR4 on a lower end card.

Why would it be a lower end card? X1950XT doesn't "sound" far off the X1950XTX.

Apparantly only XTX designated cards are getting GDDR4. As to why that is, I really have no idea.

Would this card support native crossfire support like the X1950 Pro? Or does it need one of them dongles and a master/slave card.

Prolly because there's not enough GDDR4 to go around.

i would think that the higher card would get the better RAM,

ATI's naming tecnique always confused me, they use PRO, XT, GTO, GT, XTX...
where as Nvidia uses GS<gt<GTO<GTX so they're all relating and easy to follow

ATI is easy to follow, the top models have Xs, the more the faster

The X1950XTX is starved for core cycles, not ram, so 200mhz slower ram(I bet you could bump it up another 1-2 hundred) will not make a big difference, if any.
