Dead motherboard (I think). Need help finding a new one.

Alright, so yesterday morning I plugged my mom's PS/2 motherboard into my computer, and rebooted. Well, I tried to, but the system wouldn't post anymore. I took it out, tried again, and it still wouldn't post. After trying a lot of stuff and keeping the bare minimum of motherboard, cpu, cpu cooler, 1 stick of ram, hard drive and power supply, it's still not doing anything.
Now, some parts are warming up, others aren't. My hard drive warms up a bit but doesn't rattle like it always does, some other parts on the motherboard get warm as well, but my cpu cooler is cold, meaning that's not working, the fan however is spinning. RAM stays cold as well. This all indicates to me that parts of the motherboard are fried, meaning I'm looking for a new one.

I've been looking at this one, it's a cheap one, but I think it'll do fine, just need your opinions. My budget is tight, and I'm upgrading from a motherboard that probably cost even less than that one. Let's see.

Now, what I want to know is if this will work with my system. I also need to know if this board looks reliable to you guys, I need it for about a year or so. If any more information is needed, I'm hanging around, I'm posting this off Ubuntu running on my PS3 =(.

Thanks in advance everyone, I need responses asap though, so I can order later today.

It will work, but not fantastic. If you want some performance you really can benefit from getting a better board. The P31 chipset is quite old, if you could get a P43, or even a P35 that would be better.
Well, here's the list with Socket 775 motherboards. This site is the only option I've got by the way, so.

Thanks a lot!

Edit: Just so you know, I'd prefer to have another ATX board, a lot of the cheap boards on there are Micro ATX, which I don't think will work with my case.

I like that one. If your RAM kit can hit 800mhz speed then you should be able to OC your CPU nicely with that board. If you can't afford it though, then what you linked will work as well.
That board looks nice, there's something that's been bothering me though, I think I remember some application (might've been Everest, not sure) telling me my current ram runs at 333 MHz. Now, I don't know if this is even possible, but since this comes from a 2 year old cheap prebuilt computer I doubt it'd run at 800 MHz. Could you point me to a cheap 2 or 4 GB set that would work with the motherboard? Thanks!

Edit: this one looks nice: http://alternate.be/html/product/det...wTechData=true.
If it says your ram is running at 333 it is probably actually running at 667. Remember, DDR2 is double rate so 333x2=~667. If your RAM has heatsinks you may be able to push it to 800mhz or higher, which should be fine and dandy for now. If you want to get a good OC though, buying a RAM kit similar to that would be helpful. For what you have though, I think that you should be fine with your current kit. If they don't have heat spreaders however, then your OC will be memory inhibited, as it is not a good ideo to overvolt cheap memory.

I hate to break it for you, but heatsinks on RAM is so overused that even value RAM has it. I wouldn't bet on it, as the cooling performance is barely increased when using sinks.

There are no heat spreaders on it, it's just cheap Samsung ram. I think I'll go with the ASRock board and that set of Corsair ram (I've been looking at increasing my ram for a while, so). Thanks for the help
