It costs $536 before Mail-In Rebate, but, only $506 after the rebate.

it may be just my opinion, but any video card over $400 is a ripoff no matter how you slice it.

I couldn't say, I have gotten both of my graphics cards for free from my brother (X800XL & 7900GTX).
