Is this actually worth it? I wouldn't truts Dell with anything. Maybe it's just prejudice though.

It's just prejudice.
Dell monitors are constantly rated some of the best out there, and their prices are very competitive with the markets. The quality of these are nearly unbeatable, plus it's Dell, meaning any problems will be taken care of immediately for fear of a bad name.

I've read the same about Dell monitors. The last time I bought a monitor, the Dell 2007FP was the benchmarks to which all other LCDs were measured, and in the reviews I read, the best of the best at the time sill fell just a little short. My only concern with this monitor is that the 2007FWP was their standard widescreen at this size, and they recently introduced this E2007FPW at a reduced price. I'm not sure how much quality, if any, is traded off for the lower price.

We have some of the non-E 2007FPWs in my office, and they look great. It's good to know the new revision is nice as well.

You say that like they're just passing them out like Halloween candy.

But I don't know where to get one. If I could, I'd be buying this monitor... Well, maybe not exactly this moment; if I had the money though, I would be.

Well I'll keep an eye on these and read some reviews. Knowing Dell is good with warranties reassures me however.

I believe it's a very similar panel, and has a faster response time (5ms vs I think 16 on the 2007WFP). The reason for the lower price is that the E207WFP is missing alot of the bells and whistles present on the 2007WFP (tilt/swivel/height adjusting stand, USB hub, composite in, etc.)

i just hope these aren't the panels with color banding problems that didn't make it into the revised 2007WFP line. But they seem to be very solid monitors, and the 5ms response time is very very nice. I should just pick up one of these for games and use my 2007WFP for movies.

They didn't actually change anything in the monitors inside to stop the color banding issue. I have it. They changed something involving the "desktop" profile, and it has NO banding. However, I can switch to multimedia or gaming, and it does band...

They just changed the firmware or whatever...

Either way...if I didn't have my 2007WFP, I'd probably buy one...
