Im planning on buying a 360, i was all about a PS3 untill i played a few different xbox 360 games this weekend on my GF's 60" HDTV.. I liked it alot. I mean ide probably be happier with a PS3 ebcause im so used to the controller, and im just a sony fan. But ill also be happier with the extra 200 bucks.

Anyway, i was wondering what are some cool things that can be done with a 360, i understand its more than jst a gaming console... so what is it capable of?

And do alot of people here play on xbox LIVE? i want to get it, but dont know many people on it and would like expand on that community.

Also what are some accessories you guys think are a must? Im getting the premium so it will have everything included there, and i will probably buy the wireless headset. ANd i just ordered Gears of War, a memory card, rechargable battery, and wireless controller through a work program where its pretty much free. (GOW costed me a total of 10$ with shipping.)

Well I haven't tried Live yet, waiting until I go back to college (hooray for T3 connections). Memory card - totally worthless in my opinion. You will never use it with the HD, pretty much garanteed, the HD is removable if you need to take game saves with you. Wireless controllers are the way to go, and Gears of War is the best. Of course there is the custom soundtracks with the 360 that are nice. Also downloadable content is really nice really extends the multiplayer on a game like CoD2 when you give it like 7 more maps like they did.

You look like you have it all figured out. If you are not completely sure about Live be sure to use the 48 hour trial that comes with Gears.

alright i didnt know it came with a trial.. I only got the memory card, because it was free. I figured ide only use it if i wanted to take my profile to a friends house, because he has the HD with his stuff all saved.

Yay!

Have fun with that 360, and budget in about 12 hours the first day you get it, just for Gears.

Live is cool. I played original xbox Live... It's worth the money if you play lots of online games...(or even just a few, if you play them often)

alright so i bought the premium edition today, my friend called me and asked if i gotta discount on 360's from work..i said no so he asked if i wanted to buy his. It was brand new, used once, and i was the one who used it pretty much. So i got the whole premium system and a game for 300 bucks cash.

and i barrowed rainbow six vegas it is awsome.

Now i have a question, is there anyother way to hook the 360 up wireless without the microsoft adaptor? like how about a linksys usb adaptor? will i see better perfromance from the microsoft one?

Linksys one can be used if its meant for a console. I think performance is negligable. Nice buy though!
