Not that I know anything about netbooks, but my mini 9 will not charge. Battery is totally dead. Netbook will run off the charger, but battery will not charge. The little battery icon stays on "0" all the time.

Any ideas or suggestions?

You probably just need to sack up and buy a new battery.

I know there are do-it-yourself replacement cells for rechargeable batteries, but not worth the hassle if you ask me.

The fact thats its a Dell and only cost me $250 at the time made it worthwhile. As for the battery...is that your "expert opinion?" I have a Sager laptop that did the samething last year. Found out something on the motherboard died and they had to replace the whole motherboard. (under warrenty.)

If its only a battery, thats not bad. But if its more, I might get an Msi Wind instead.

I don't know about those batteries--do they have the LED charge indicator lights on them like most batteries? If so, see if the battery is holding a charge. If not, then it's probably just dead, not a mobo issue. I haven't heard of anything regarding the dell mini's and motherboard-battery issues.
