I'm currently using the Dell Ultrasharp U2212HM and love the sharpness and color output of it, but I want to switch to a 21:9 screen. The resolution of 2560x1080 is sufficient for me as I prefer downscaling than having a larger screen for more pixels (hate jaggies).

The main question for me is: How does the LG match up in picture quality to the Dell? It is the newer model and has a curved screen which suits me better, but only if the loss in image quality is either none or not noticeable.

Does anyone have experiences with both displays?

I hope you dont mind me jumping in this topic.Im after a 21:9 monitor myself that will be my secondary monitor besides my primary monitor on a 130cm desk.
I have been looking at Asus 29" LED MX299Q or this 21:9 from Dell. Since I saw a video of the dell one from the side that showed that the screen lost it colour somehow when not directly in front of the screen.Kinda hard to explain.
Im not gonna buy a curved 21:9 monitor tho.
But im fairly intersted if this Dell monitor is good for maybee movie watching on a second monitor, then thing is important to me is that since this dell wont be right in front me that it will be clear.
The only thing this monitor will be used for is FF and and chrome open + temperature monitoring and maybee have a movie going on it when my primary monitor is beeing used.

EDIT: I found this review to be very decisive for me.

I actually landed on the dell one and it seems like a very good monitor out of the box,and better if you calibrate to your liking.I would advice you to read the entire review tho.
I cant find any review of the mx299q or the 29UC97C-B on that site.
