Hello,

For quite a while now i've been having an issue where my 3TB Seagate drive can not be accessed.

''F:/ is not accessible

The device is not ready''

In device manager its listed as ''Unknown device''

However, to make my HDD come alive again i have to completely turn off my PSU for a moment. After rebooting its alive again.

Its been happening more often lately. Any ideas?

Your PSU is probably dying as a lot of the old AX1200 have been lately
That or the drive is dying

Could be my AX1200. Recently i had some trouble with my PC shutting down randomly during demanding games with high cpu/gpu usage.

I turned off Anti surge protection in the BIOS and haven't got a shutdown ever since.

The AX1200 came out in 2010 and came with a 7 year warranty and the AX1200 has a history of dying right around the time the warranty will run out
Replace your PSU and you dont need to buy another 1200 watt unit 850 watt is more than enough

I'd check the Event Viewer as well as SMART diagnostics before going to any conclusions.

While the power supply does have these known flaws, I'd wager you'd be seeing more than just an HDD behaving oddly if it really was the culprit.
