DFI LanParty UT N-Force 590 SLI problems

308 2
So, there are some minor problems those i wish solve.

First, i have 2 Vitesta OC edition 400 MHz DDR2 kits, which as printed on the heatsink, are defined to work at 4-4-4-12 ns.

But whenever i look in BIOS, it displays 5-5-5-15, so i manualy try set up the 4-4-4-4-12 timings and save to CMOS and reboot..

Windows would not start...

So i have to set up defaults again. Is this a ****ed-up RAM?

Next question is NVRAID. I have 2 Seagate 7200.11 drives both SATA2 16 MB cache, same model, and whever i try enable raid, it fails.

I am not using the additional silicon SATA ports, but the default 6 SATA ports.

Anybody has experiece with how to configure RAM and raid, please help.

Well for starters.

Your drives need to be bare when setting up a raid. And formated the same.

As for the RAM, go into your BIOS and look for an EPP/SLi enhanced option. That should automatically put your RAM at 400mhz x 2 w/ 4-4-4-12-2T timings.
