The reviewers on the Newegg review page tore apart the rating of this otherwise great looking board. Alot of people are reporting dead boards.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with this board? Is DFI reliable? I'm very interested in it.

DFI is a good company, have been making great overclocking boards for years. I've heard good things about this board, check out the stable Phenom II overclocks thread to see how this board was used and how high it could push a CPU.
Im pretty much a DFI fanboy so i will recommend them..i love the look and performance/overclockability and amount of tweaking you can do. But if you are new to overclocking id get a gigabyte or asus. Ive used DFI from the start and have always found them reliable. 1 thing though, their RMAs dont get much praise..so if that is something important to you, you may want to look at other options. Also im sure that board will be a monster overclocker. I got my phenom 9500 (crap ocing chip) to 3.313ghz!!
on a DFI 790FX M2RS.

DFI would be one of those companies where you just don't bother questioning the quality of their board. That board seems great to make a crossfire lanbox and I wish I had the budget for one right now. However no one is perfect and it seems like newegg has lots of people that only post reviews when they do run into problems and some don't even know what they're talking about.

I suppose I'll give it a try. I've never tried a DFI board before; mostly because they are so expensive.

Thanks for the input.

That is amazing. Isn't that a 2.2GHz low-voltage chip?

..Yea it is 2.2ghz stock but im not sure if its a low voltage one..also most people were geting 2.7ghz-2.8ghz on these chips if lucky..the dfi amazed me there.

Right here.

Honestly, not even half of the Newegg reviews give this board justice. The fact is, you need to know how to set up your hardware. If you don't, you won't be able to boot and say it's a faulty board. DFI's are all extremely finicky with settings, as almost everything is customizable.

With that said, I haven't had a board with as many options as this one. And surprisingly enough, the BIOS is pretty easy to navigate and understand. I'm extremely happy with mine, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The only little thing I'd like to modify is the NB cooling, which seems to get a little hot for my taste. But that's nothing a few extra fans a some properly applied AS5 can't fix.

I give it six eggs.

I'm actually looking at the same board. I bought a DFI mobo 3 years ago and it works great. Only problem I had was with the northbridge fan (bearings went - just replaced it with a stock VGA fan). But otherwise great board. I agree the BIOS settings can be a bit intimidating as it is an overclockers board, but lots of forums out there will guide you through it.

Too bad DFI is the only mobo manufacture that makes this hardware config in UATX.
Hi Guys!

I have a question. Im planning to build up a rig with this motherboard. I want to combine it with AMD Phenom II X4 940 Quad-Core.

Will this board work with this processor out of the box or do I have to flash the mobo's bios first using older cpu (i dont have any so so thats why im asking) ???
