Preliminary pictures of the MOBO.

Heres the MOBO with the new chip set fan.

This system will have the following components installed:

DFI NF-4 LP UT SLI DR Venus
AMD 3700+ Sandiego IHS Removed.
2 X 512 Geil 1 BH-5
XFX 7800GT
Sound blaster X-Fi
Antec Smart Power 2.0 500W PSU
Big Typhoon Heat Sink
2 - Western Digital 120gig SATA In RAID 0
Ever Cool VC-RE Chip Set cooler
Case - NZXT Lexa

Here are some Pre Build Pictures.

The Big typhoon has been ground down on the edge that overlaps the shoulder on the socket to allow for the small gap from the IHS removal.
This insures a flush fit on the die.

Looks like a nice board, I'd love to see if it makes a big difference above the regular Expert. Nice Sony camera BTW.

The box looks nice in pictures, but its not that nice. The MOBO works great. Everything went very smooth. only problem is that Speed Fan wont work with it??

Nice looking setup. Please let us know if that board is really worth what they are charging for it. IMO it's kinda pricey for being PCI-x16 (2x8xSLi) and not 32 (2x16xSLi) like some other boards out there. Great work!

The Venus uses all Japanesse Aluminum caps. And a fancy box thats about it.

Yeah but I think its because its Japanese Aluminum caps, I just went by what it said in the press release. Its supposed to give rock solid voltages.

The best I can figure out is that the Expert motherboard had a lot of bugs that couldn't be fixed with a simple bios change.
So they came out with the Venus that has the solid caps, Works with TCCD better, and suposedly overclocks with 2 gigs of ram a lot better(this I haven't tested yet)
Supposedly they remapped some of the pathways to fix some problems.

how is the noise level though? I've heard some people complain that it is louder than the stock chipset cooler
