Decided it would be best to move the discussion from my other thread in the AMD motherboards section to here.

Long story short, I cant get the internet to work on my new pc, which is using the onboard network adapter on the Asus A8N-E mobo.

I have pretty much got it down to the point that its the DHCP that isnt working, it isnt giving me an IP address to use when on the same connection, same exact network wire even, it works on my current pc. All mobo drivers are loaded, etc.

Are DHCP problems to be handled with my ISP? Or is there some sort of fix to this?

Did you run Network connection wizard on the new rig?

Havent been able to purchase a new length of wire so I have been just unplugging one computer and trying it on the new one :|

Ghetto rig!

DHCP is activated, and yes I tried to run the network connection wizard but it really didnt do anything.

Note, the single length of wire I have comes straight from the modem.

Should I just try calling my isp? Or is this something they just cant help?

Got it to work...I had reinstalled drivers as it had been suggested and that is usually a big problem but I never actually UNINSTALLED them

A very noobish mistake, I will admit.

Thanks to all for suffering through my cryptic descriptions and trying to help me though!
