If so, how? I tried cranking the fsb to 450 and it kinda worked, mind some stability issues. What's the max voltage one should use to prevent the cpu from burning? At 3.5 ghz, i have it at 1.425v (is that too high?).<br />

I'd try not to go past ~1.4V on air. Just my safety precautions.

doesn't the vCore play less a part than actual temps? I mean sure that vCore affects temperature but I can keep my e6600 at 1.5725 vCore, which is still under 60C underload in TAT.<br />
Or am i mistaken and i should lower my vCore?

</div>Temperatures don't mean everything. Your putting a lot of stress on your CPU when you pump more electricity through it. 1.5V should be on water.<br />

1.5V will shorten your CPU's lifespan. Lets look at the P4 Northwood as an example. They overclocked like monsters, when people with water pushed it to 1.7V, it died instantly. Just read around, and think of your CPU before pushing out that last mhz.

I've had mine at 3.4 and up to 1.5V. Its was unstable. It's verry stable at 3.2 with 1.425V. I've been decreasing my volts to see the min. for my system. I'm at 1.375 but haven't dual primes yet. I do have stock cooling but have a fan blowing into my case. Just my info.

1.5vcore on air with a good cooling system, it should be OK, mine has been at 1.52vcore load temp low 50's, alot of people have been giving then 1.5vcore and over without any incadents of failures, they can go as high as 60c without any problems.

I'd say so for 24/7 use. I look at keeping my processor for a while. No one can actually say what a safe voltage is. It's been a few months, I'd give it a year before you can tell what a safe voltage is.
