I just finished playing AC:B after finishing AC2 a few days ago. I had 2 days on nothing to do so I just gamed hard. I beat the game in about 20 hours probably less, wasn't exactly counting. But the story wasn't quite as epic as AC2. I really enjoyed AC:B but I gave me more questions than answers and I didn't enjoy it as much. What do you think? I can't wait for the next installment. I really hope they make the game a little more optimized for PC, it is sad to see flickering and bad depth. FOV could be higher also. And the lag spikes suck. Overall I think this game is an 8.5/10 but I just felt it could have been better. I have yet to do any side stuff or DLC so we will see.

Please no flaming!

I think it was an awesome game, but it definitely wasn't much of a step up from AC2 gameplay or story wise.

I really liked the whole 'pointless' growing up storytelling start to AC2, before you even know your an assassin. Brotherhood seemed to start too sudden for me and I found it hard to get back into the mindset of it at first.

The ending was alright, not quite as epic as AC2, and like you say, it kinda just asked a load more questions. Hopefully though, this will lead to an epic storyline for AC3, and being the third game it hopefully will be a change like AC1 to AC2 was gameplay wise.

I wouldn't say it was a let down though...I got many hours of fun from it

Multiplayer and the mouse acceleration however are a massive let down! lol

I tried playing with kb and mouse. It was bad. The game is best played with a 360 controller. Lots more fun. I gotta try the multiplayer soon. The game is still new enough on pc to have at least a few people who play. I can't wait for ac3. I first played the series in a ubisoft sale from steam a few week ago. Ac really is a nice change pace. The drm is a little interesting also. I guess it's just something we have to live with.

The drm isn't that bad. It is not too intrusive. I think you can play in offline mode with restriction. I think we are just gonna have to deal with drm. It is sad because anyone who pirates the game won't deal with it. Ever get the feeling drm only affects paying customers? But the game is good enough to tolerate the drm.

Don't care. I refuse to be bent over a table because Ubisoft thinks people who buy their games are dirty criminal scum until they can prove otherwise.

I'm speaking with my wallet here. That whole series looks fun as well but I refuse to buy any of the installments because of that horrible DRM. It's an insult to honest PC gamers.

I played it on the 360 as well. I thought the game was good but I agree it didn't have the entrance into the atmosphere that AC2 had. Though the way I looked at it Brotherhood was more so an 'expansion' to AC2, so I wasn't expecting a massive story or a different take on things; it only came out like a year after AC2 did.

You do understand that AC:B is the 3rd game right?

OT: I've loved all the AC games, I started to play AC:B a few weeks ago and put about 10-15 hours into it but I've been playing to much Gran Turismo 5 again so I haven't completed AC:B yet to give a full aspect review. But I think the story is great and is well put together so far.

technically its a continuation of Assassin's creed 2. NOT Assassin's Creed 3 like many people think. This game is ok i guess, but the thing i despise is the stupid Full sync requirements. It drives me to madness with the do not lose health requirements
other than that, the ending is a
moment. Warning: spoiler. At the end Lucy gets killed, but before that the goddess says there is a dark cross in the horizon, maybe Lucy is killed because she is a Templar

Meh it's the 3rd full game that came out, so to me it's AC3.

Unlike HL2 with 2 episodes (half games), AC:B is a full blown game.

You can call it AC3 if you like but when the actual AC3 comes out it might be a bit confusing

AC:B is really an expansion, they didnt change the engine or mechanics or anything that much, and it continued Ezio's story. I think Ubi have said that brotherhood is not AC3. Hopefully they will push things a lot more for the next one, I dont think AC2 or AC:B got as much visuals as they could have vs some other games around lately.

It was certainly not as long as Assassin's Creed 2 but it wasn't meant to be. I loved it nonetheless. I think the new things like training and being able to call for assassins to assist are great additions to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed playing through Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

Someone mentioned how the DRM is intrusive for legit customer. I agree with you. I could have downloaded it off some file share site in the same amount of time and not have to deal with DRM. Unfortunately, I seriously don't care about DRM at all, I take it as it comes, I have yet to stumble upon DRM that made my pc act bad, then again the only DRM i have experienced is Steam, EA, and Ubi. Comeing from a life long console gamer converted to pc gamer, DRM is fine for me, I used to have all my games stolen all the time, the console DRM is really harsh. At least with this pc drm system, I can always get my games back even if my computer is stolen. Yes, DRM blows but I really enjoy the benefits of the game managers and the DRM, I have yet to have one my my pc games stolen. DRM != always bad.

Back on topic, I finished the story and found myself only 45% sync, what else is there? is there more story? I have bought almost every single shop and landmark and still am low, is there really more game left? Also how do I access the Davinci DLC? or the Animus 1.0 and 2.0? Are they in extras?

Also, im really hoping Ubi doesn't bastardize AC and make a crappy game next. Also why is there such a big gap between pc and console release, From what I can tell all they add in is the keyboard/mouse controls. Not like the games look much better on pc.

I enjoyed the multiplayer on Xbox 360. It was a refreshing change to be honest.

The singleplayer left alot to be desired for me. I really just didn't get into it that much.

PC DRM blows. Ask anyone who tried to play Dragon Age: Origins within the past few days. EAs is a pointless system that was made to combat the used sales market for consoles, not to tackle piracy.

People shouldn't have to be online to play their own game that they paid money for. Neither should they have to rely on someone elses server to authenticate their game everytime they boot it up just so they can play either.

DRM is just going way too far nowadays.

DRM has gone too far when you have to have a permanent internet connected to play a single player game! Thankfully they removed that for brotherhood...

I can't understand DRM anyway, can't they see it doesn't work? Infact I'm pretty sure a game with heavy DRM will suffer more from piracy than if it had a less intrusive DRM.

What annoys me the most is games on steam that still use stupid DRM...

Not entirely. You can't do certain things while ofline like investing. But I see your point. The drm most games have on steam is ok by me. Just log in and thats it, can go offline and single player is not afffected. Maybe more people should take this approach. The EA drm isn't so ad either.

Yeah I think steam as a DRM is perfect, I try and get all games on steam first. It just annoys me when a game is on steam aswell as having securom with a 3 install limit or something

In all fairness, I've not had any problems with DRM for years, although I did once have to format due to Securom on a splinter cell game!

it was bad, but the DRM now for AC:B isn't intrusive, IMO i don't even notice it, so i don't really care.

btw this is a great AC forum for discussing and conspiring about the game series
