im just curious whats the difference ? because i've been long time never purchase the DVD copy, and i found that sometimes the game is even cheaper with the DVD version on Ebay, not that bad for collection

can i get the DVD version register on steam ? or you prefer purchase from steam?

or some games like diablo 2, i can still join all sever no matter which region i bought am i right ?

it really depends on whether or not the cd key is registered in the steam data base. more often than not, you can not tie your dvd version key to a digital download version.

the content will be the same, but the medium in which it is delivered is different.

good example: dragon age origins ultimate version on steam and the ultimate dvd.

it just wont work.

however, if it is a valve game then the dvd key will be tied to a digital download from steam.

like i purchased the crysis 2 from EA, i cant add into steam and the sever is saperated, just wondering is steam ? or i should go with the cheaper price ? lol

There is a list of games that are accepted by steam. Anything else you will have to download them through another medium such as D2D,EA or wherever you may purchase it from.

You can then put the shortcut from that game into your steam folder and it will most likely still work with steam overlay allowing you to chat with your friends or whatever you want to do with it.
