Can someone help me here, because soon I'm going to install ubuntu and try it out but I'd like to know what the difference? btw wth is fluxbox?

And kubuntu looks more like a windows environment and can act like it. However I recommend unbuntu for the fact that it doesn act like a windows environment but looks more like a mac. All in all you will get the same results from either but I think you will enjoy ubuntu much more due to looking a lot different then your everyday OS.

Yeah, take a look at the link Melcar gave.

Fluxbox is just a Window manager, where as KDE and GNOME are desktop environments, and they too have a window manger though.
KDE-kwin (default), can also use Compiz
GNOME- Metacity (default) can also use Compiz and others.

Fluxbox is a minimalist graphical environment. Good for slower machines and fun to mess with. I like the *boxs(black, Open, flux)
