The difference is the TRUE Black 120 is Nickel Plated to give it that black look. The regular TRUE 120 is not plated. It has been tested and the only difference in performance between the two is around 1 degree greater temps with the TRUE Black 120 at most.

You are correct about the copper TRUE being more effective because of the heat transfer qualities of copper. It's also like five times heavier than the regular TRUE 120 and cost a ton more. I hope that answers your question.

Yep, the main difference between the two aluminum ones is color. A black color will radiate heat slightly better, but its an extremely small difference.

The copper one will transfer heat quite a bit better and its additional mass allows it to soak up short term energy spikes without heating up as much more easily. I'd worry a but about hanging that much weight off the mobo though. Its also way better looking in my opinion.

Lapping whatever you get will typically give a significant improvement in cooling.
i'll probably buy the aluminum one then.. it doesnt need any string support or whatever so it wont snap the mobo right?
They probably have a different sound to them due to RPM . All in all if you want a JET , this is for you!!!

There's no real difference from the TRUE and TRUE Black. There is a difference with the Copper TRUE though. (Simple answer)

No it will not snap the mobo. The mobo is PLENTY strong enough to support the weight of either the TRUE or TRUE black.

It won't snap the motherboard if you don't sit on it yourself.
And you shouldn't try commuting with the whole motherboard with the TRUE especially if you are putting it vertically in a case.
not commuting w/ the comp for 4 years..
