Yeah, I think that this is affecting most North Americans for some reason. But I wouldn't worry about losing the game, though. If you try to add Dirt 2 to your shopping cart, Steam won't allow you to buy it for yourself. So you have it, but you just can't see it. Valve will probably fix this before the game is released on the 8th.

Hey, I tried re-activating my code, and Steam gave me a begin downloading screen. The program then took me back to the games list, which didn't change. But, I went to the steamapps/common folder, and found a Dirt 2 folder with a bunch of the acutal game's files in it.

Same thing to me it disappeared, but it downloaded 10.5gb into my steam folder.
