I've searched for a discussion thread about DiRT2 and didn't find one so I made it.

The game is supposed to launch in 1 Dec in NA, 3 Dec in EU and 4 Dec in UK.

So, lets talk about DiRT2!
(please keep it civilized)

I think its an AWESOME game, you can feel the car going on the track and you can drift far better than in DiRT1.
Graphics have also improved, the whole caravan menu style is awesome and the whole game just runs great.
The difficulty level have increased a lot. I think they're trying to make up for the easiness of DiRT1's hardest difficulty.
I can barely beat it on Hardcore with MANY restarts and retries.

Up to now my Favorite Car is the Subaru Impreza STi Group N + Trailblazer pack, go to China, the 2nd Event "Recaro Trailblazer", use this car with No FEAR liveries.

With the trailblazer pack on this track, I think I pooped a little at the sheer speed!
So far its great game!
Might pick this up soon, seems like a great game.Have to finish GRID first though.
Does it look good in DX9?

Done both GRID and Dirt to the end, now this is a cool game, in the pits etc, plus sweet to play once you've set up the steering

Pulling 33ish FPS single 4670 on sig (1920*1080 mostly high)

game runs great on most PCs.
Friend of mind plays it at ~35FPS @1440x900 with a 8600GTS

I've played both versions, the Dx11 takes the cake due to better HDR lighting, better cloth animation by quite a bit, the water, and the quality of the textures.

The dx9 version does look surprisingly great too, it just lacks that special something that dx11 brings.

All in all both look really nice, I would go out on a limb and agree with CM and say they have made the best looking racer I've ever played. I don't normally play racing games let alone rally, but I love this game!
Hey guys I just downloaded the demo but could not find any options to make it run in dx 11. Is it automatically running in dx 11 with the 5870. I couldn't really tell in the benchmark.

DX11 is setting the post process option in the graphics section from medium (dx9) to high(dx11)
I only have medium available.

Well I may have to be the odd man out and say that I was unimpressed. The visuals look great and it runs fluidly but but the cars seem to suffer from Forza/Gran Tourismo-itis. Call me crazy but in real life when you turn the wheels of your car you generally go in that direction. I realize that racing on sand and such is rough but please...my Lumina has more traction on an icy road than a full on bonafide rally car in some light sand.

You're not the only one, man. I too think it looks and runs great. Its obvious its meant for a controller and wheel support was an afterthought though. The car doesn't feel connected to the road at all and it's just...numb feeling, like the rear tires are steering the car.

This is exactly the reason why "realism" racers like Forza and GT have never at all appealed to me. I do realize this game wasn't trying to go for that "realism" feel but they got it to a tee. I don't understand why game developers feel like 100k+ cars should have no handling at all.
It's no fun. Controller or keyboard, when I turn my car it should turn.

Give me that old school "arcade" driving like NFSU2 and the like over this "realistic"
crap anyday.

Lol thing is...DIRT is supposed to be arcade, and it does feel arcade to me. In a proper race sim, the car does turn, maybe not effortlessly, but it does turn.

Is it possible to name my profile something other than "profile one" I dont know hwo to enter in surname etc.

To me, this game feels great. the cars are extremely easy to drive, but still fun and challenging when racing. the graphics are reallly nice. There's no stupid steering lag like in other arcade racing games. the car pretty much goes where i point it.
my profile dissapeared. I alt+F4'ed out of the game. and when i went to play again, my profile was gone....

Also, i can't change forename and surname from Player One.

also, i cant skip the stupid dialogue and videos...
