Hi. i have recently bought a Acer Aspire One laptop and installed windows 7 ultimate on it, having only 1 gigabyte of memory i am not happy with the performance, i remember doing a tweat in windows Vista that would disable that pre-loading of applications in to the memory feature, making vista pretty much like XP, i want to do this same exact tweak in w7. Help please
i dont remember how the features are called ^^

Disabling the prefetcher?

Cached RAM isn't really being 'used' or taken up - it's simply ready to be.

Also, the memory management features of Windows 7 have been highly overhauled and improved.

I would strongly recommend against changing the default values - especially on a computer with a minimal amount of memory.

How to disable Superfetch.

I would not do it (and have not on any of my computers, even my netbook), and most others recommend not to either..

I would NOT disable that honestly. Windows 7 is nothing like vista. Go to blackviper.com and read the service guide. Disable windows search and windows defender, and remove remote differential compression. for a start
