Be WARNED. I got a DOA CROSSOVER 27QW and green-sum expects me to ship it back for replacement at my cost, $200 to ship back.
eBay will not cover their "Money Back Guaranteed" promise even when the seller don't pay for shipping. eBay closed my case and asked me to ship the item back before they can refund my $319.

I left NEGATIVE feedback and warned the others.

I am ABSOLUTELY disappointed in green-sum and I bought from them based on the positive feedback from various buyers here in this forum. Even reading that the seller don't cover shipping cost for replacement I always read that green-sum will make good to the customer. Not my luck that's for sure and I am at lost for $319 and a DOA of monitor in my house

No idea what to do but I will go ahead and decline charges on my credit card I used with PayPal

Suggestions, ideas?

I hear so many great things about these overclockable Korean monitors guess this one is a fluke this time. Even if it did cost you $200 to send it back you'll at least get like 1/3 of your money back. It's better than hanging on to a dead monitor. There is possibly no way that you can ship the monitor without it costing $200? You can't send it at a snail mail pace back to them for the cheapest dollar amount possible? You can try to strip as much weight off the box as possible. I know most places will measure the shipment by box dimensions and weight but mostly determine the cost based on weight.

Send them back an empty box? or a box of bricks?

Really don't do it, that's probably in bad faith. You'd just be as bad as Green Sum. Wow that page of negative feedback is starting to stack up.

Yes indeed I gambled and lost. For now. But I do have faith in my bank. I had another credit card transaction declined on an eBay item pay with PayPal and I won. I believe this will work again. I won't let it go that easy. Is just amazing for the money green-sum makes they can't take care of a bad apple. Really weird, very weird.

Additional information (may help some others):

When I had to ship a monitor back to sellers, across the ocean -- I often looked at budget shippers (e.g. DHL instead of UPS or FedEx) which allowed me to ship for less than $100

I suspect these go by slow container ship along with other parcels, but it arrived eventually.

your comment makes me upset. I don't think he gambled at all He bought a product that is supposed to work and it doesn't. It shouldn't be on the customer to ship back a DOA item.

If he got it and didn't like it for some stupid reason then yeah he should pay to ship it back.

I actually went through the exact same thing with another ebay seller and a monitor. It wasn't doa but it had a bunch of dead pixels and I had to fight to have them pay to ship it back, only when I threatened to do a chargeback did they comply.

@OP I would definitely file a chargeback case.

I recently purchased one from a seller that says they will pay return shipping for the first time if you recieve a defective monitor. They havent shipped it out yet however and I payed last friday =\

Ta-korea.global is the seller

Item is a qnix evolution ii perfect pixel. Their perfect pixel policy seems legit as well. Wish me luck

He did gamble on a seller that doesn't provide free DOA returns. He should've bought from a seller that offers a policy for free return shipping for DOA items along with dead pixels and backlight bleeding. It shouldn't be on the customer to pay the cost of sending the DOA item back but it is the customer's job to find out the seller's return policy and adhere to their terms. Once you bought from the seller you acknowledged any rights you lost as a customer and you adhered to their terms of service. If you didn't like their return policy then you should've read their policy before deciding to make a purchase.

Read their return policy as it is stated clearly:
Return Policy
At our store, our primary goal is to ensure Full satisfaction with your purchase. We offer Exchange or Repair when there are defects on the item or misrepresentation on listings. All returning items for a refund must be unopened and in new condition, in their original boxes including all packing material. Shipping and Handling fee are not refundable.

Can Green Sum do this? Yes they can. If you don't like how they run their business then don't purchase from them.

Reading the seller's return policy would've saved you and the OP from much trouble, if the seller doesn't have a return policy then caveat emptor.

You should check again the price for shipping back - there's no way to be $200. This monitor can't weight more than 25lbs. Are looking at express shipping or something like that?

Yes except that like 99.98% of buyers get a good unit and, as such, my QNIX is probably the best PC/electronics purchase I've made ever in terms of bang-for-buck.

Returning faulty goods

If you receive faulty goods and wish to return them, The Distance Selling Regulations are in addition to your other legal rights.So, if your goods are faulty and don't do what they're supposed to, or don't match the description given, you have the same consumer rights under the Sale of Goods Actas you have when buying face to face.Any terms and conditions that say you must cover the cost of returning an item wouldn't apply where the goods being returned are faulty.

that applies for inner country purchases, at least in germany. no chance do anything against an oversea seller, if it`s not common law in that country and are not willing to run the long way like legal charges.

Pretty much this, it's not enforceable as the item is bought from overseas and on eBay. But every country should have some kind of return policy put in place. It's pretty much up to eBay and Paypal to dispute the problem. Considering the seller put up a return policy and the buyer didn't read it I tend to think eBay/Paypal will most likely side in favor of the seller.

I agree. The monitor only weighs 13.2 lbs (6kg) and even with packaging I doubt it would exceed 25 lbs. Maybe the OP is looking at next day air or something. Technically the seller doesn't have any amount of days posted that the item must be returned by so you could ship it the slowest and cheapest way possible. I just don't see how it could total $200 for shipping.

I don't think bringing up some local consumer protection group, or even a legal requirement is going to make a dent in this issue. This is some korean seller who barely speaks english and likely does not care about much other than losing as little money as possible on this.

Also, a word of wisdom. I would have waited on leaving the feedback, for eBay seller ratings are really valuable. You have already left negative feedback and provided bad detailed seller ratings. There is not much that green-sum co. has to lose (the damage has been done).

At this point I don't care anymore. I already spent 2 weeks screwing around with green-sum and they never offered to cover the shipping back to them. I just don't have time for this. Besides eBay closed my case as well demanding me to ship the monitor back at my cost since that's the seller policy. There are no eBay or PayPal channels left. So I got screwed from all angles. The monitor is DOA and I will trash it after all this is over. I hope disputing charges on the credit card will do the trick.
