Dish soap?

Okay I've seen it stated that a drop or two of blue dawn dish soap in your WC system can be beneficial. Does it have to be dawn or will any dish soap work? antibacterial would be a plus as well right?

I just tried it last night, one drop of soap worked like a charm, removed all bubbles from the lines, very satisfied
Yeah it works great, I always use a drop or two of blue Dawn and then about an ounce of glycerine per 40 ounces of distilled, it's a surfactant also. If you add to much of the dish soap it can bubble and to much of it seems to hurt temp's a little. If you use over about an ounce of glycerine it seems to hurt temp's a little. But I can use a drop or two of the soap and a ounce of glycerine and it helps me to bleed faster and seems to help temp's a little more then just using each singly.

A lot of it is it helps to release all those little micro-bubbles that can get trapped in your blocks and rad, that lets the coolant make full contact with everything and that's what helps temp's I guess.

EDIT:

You doing something to your loop that affects temps?!

I'll probably have to give this a try if it helps bleeding and those bubbles. Even though my loop is in a temporary state I found myself tapping at those buggers in my tubes for 2 nights.

Wouldn't a surfactant lower the water's turbulence when it enters the water block, which is ultimately what you want more of?

It shouldn't, that turbulence is going to be caused more by the block construction and smoothness of the material it is flowing over. Directing the water to the center of the block, having bends in the block, having dimples on the block surface are the things that will cause turbulance.

The surfactant action is getting the water to actually make better contact with the walls of the block, tubing, ..... whatever it comes in contact with. You want turbulent water but also water that is always in good contact with your block.

No its Dawn. Because Dawn has a degreaser that will tear up any oily substance such as Mold and mildew. I have been using Dawn and water as a glass cleaner for the last 10 years. Super Cheap and super Good. For Glass Cleaner or Acrylic window(that won't etch your Plastic) cleaner use one teaspoon of dawn to a full water spray bottle. you want a barely visual blue color to it.

I finally got to do this and it scared the crap out of me how quickly it worked.
I started leak testing the loop after it was filled and my pump was very loud from all the air inside it. Got one drop (and I think a smaller one) in the res and BAM, the pump goes dead silent. lol Thought I effed something up until i saw the tubes clearing up.
Well you learn something new everyday. Who would have thought that one the most infamous bubble producing substances is great for getting rid of bubbles in your WC loop? Goes to show...trolling OCN does have some point....
I always used 2 drops but stopped using soap about 4 months ago.

Well as the firs few posts state the Liquid Soap eases surface tension and helps to get rig of bubbles faster.
It should help with bleeding as well.

I doubt the soap had anything to do with it. I cleaned up some dye from a couple tubes earlier. I've read that it can get stuck everywhere and become a nuisance.
But I'm hard headed and wanna give it a try.

Kicking this back up because of the good info! Amazing that a bubble-producing agent can help get rid of them!
