Disk Read Error

232 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  B!0HaZard
After coming back from sleep, my PC BSOD'd and upon restarting, it wouldn't boot. Just getting "Disk Read Error". Hooked it up to my laptop and still couldn't read the data.

Seems it's still working, I just can't access the data. No choice but to format/reinstall?

boot up into puppy linux and see if you can recover data from there but most likely bad sectors... you will have to reformat and install again tho

boot to the puppy linux and mount hte drive nad see what you can do
Puppy Linux? So burn it to a CD and boot with that? And what can Puppy Linux do that Windows can't?
