So I have a dualboot gateway fx notebook. Vista64 boots fine and up until yesterday, XP worked great. However, now when I boot up XP my display goes blank after the windows loading screen. Sounds like a driver issue so I reinstalled the graphics drivers and I still have the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

edit: trying system restore...

edit 2: system restore worked.

edit 3: rebooted and having the issue again.

Reboot in Safe Mode and uninstall the graphics driver. Leave the graphics driver uninstalled (so it will default to a generic Windows driver) and reboot the machine. You should not have a blank screen anymore after booting into your Windows desktop.

I'm assuming you upgraded your graphics drivers recently. Do you have a older driver version that you know worked that you can "downgrade" to? If not, go into Device Manager, right-click on your graphics card, click on the "Driver" tab, and click "Roll back driver...".
