Do cold cathode lights generate alot of heat

Enough to make the ambient case temp rise considerably?

Reason, I am thinking of purchasing: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/lodured12inc.html

I have no experience with cold cathodes, so just wondering.

Just a quick note on those cathodes. They are more of an "orangy red" I had the same ones. If you look in a toaster when it is on, it is that kind of red. Apparently their meteor lights are a nice red though. LED's also produce a much better red. Just my input
(I have the red LED's and they are better IMO)

Cathodes get warm, but they don't heat up the air.

Oh ok. That's fine though, since my Xigmatek Red Scorpion emits the same type of orangish-red light, so should match perfect.

Back in the days of my Xbox case mods, I've noticed that over time they caused the clear 5 min epoxy i used to mount them with to turn a little brown. (i cracked off the plastic shells so they could fit).

Good to know in case you ever have to fit them in a tight spot. Especially if they're mounted to the inside of an acrylic case (because in the more transparent colors, you can see it through the case).

Just my
... But any way you use them isn't going to cause any serious heat generation issues.

No. I have never seen any that did. Neons tend to generate some heat, but I have never seen cold cathodes produce much noticeable heat.
haha you should ask me rofl 2 cold caths and I just ordered 2 4inch caths and I just got my 2 jumbo laser LEDS from xoxide.com
FTW!

Yeah these aren't generating any heat after installing a few days ago.
