As storage capacity increases I was looking into enterprise level drives for better 24/7 reliability.

Do Enterprise level drives typically last longer than consumer level drives?

Typically, yes they do. They also can usually ship with interfaces not often implemented on consumer systems, like SCSI, Fibre channel and SASI. They often have longer command caches and bigger data caches to cope with massive throughputs these drives often have to cope with.

When comparing apples-to-apples.... It is not because of better components but because of better binning.
