Hey guys,

I talked with Asus tech support and they said that perhaps the reason why i can't get a visual on my monitor is because the mobo isn't accepting the RAM.

Currently, i don't have a computer i can just sticks the RAM in and look at the specs. My only option is to look at the sticker on the RAM.

To be honest, i have no idea what i need to be looking for on the sticker.

This is what one of the stickers says:

Hynix

1GB 2Rx8 PC2-3200R-333-12
HYMP512R728-E3 AA-A 0532

Ddr2.
That is DDR 2 RAM, but it is pretty slow. only 400Mhz
Well PC3200 is DDR2 I believe dont know bout the other one

Edit - Yep both DDR2
That's DDR2 because of the "PC2" portion of it.

Just pointing that out.

So far, I am pretty sure it is DDR2. Check it out:

Edit:
I didn't think about the PC2 part.

All of the above post.

DDR2
On a side note DDR and DDR2 are not interchangable i.e. DDR will not fit in a DDR2 socket and DDR2 will not fit in a DDR socket.
DDR is 184 pin and DDR2 is 240 pin
Hmmm, maby i have just found the problem.

According to newegg.ca the mother board i chose only accepts these RAM speeds 1066*/800/667

So if i only have 400Mhz could that possibly be the reason why im having problems with the mobo?

Is it possible for computer problems if the RAM's to slow?

Actuality, yes. the RAM:FSB ratio with the slow ram may be something the board cannot boot with.
