you need to jump start your psu. so you can test/check your loop for leaks
I plugged my pump 3 pin into the CPU header on the mobo, it just reads RPM but without it my PC says before bios post that theres no CPU fan and wont go away till I plug the pump in.
almost all overclocking boards will be just fine. Companies realize that a lot of people will be watercooling the higher end stuff, so most boards will be just fine with no fan hooked up. If it gives you problems, in the PC health status section of your bios should have an option for manual control of the CPU fan speed. turn it to 0 and it should be just fine.
