recycling is a waste of time. its been proven that it takes aload of energy to recycle things. So basically the resources needed to recycle out weighs recycling. Recycling certain things is not efficent. For example metal cans, firstly you need t cruch them (uses energy), secondly you need to melt the things (uses energy), thirdly you need to shape them again (uses energy), then you need to package them (uses energy).

Its all about using the materials we have instead of ripping more out of the earth

I do recycle and everbody should. Look what we have done to Earth. I hate when people say they don't care about the pollutions and stuff. This is like our home. There is no second Earth.

I don't care about Earth. I care about us (humans) because we have been residents here for the blink of an eye (see my avatar for a reference). If we are gone tomorrow, the Earth will not miss us.

Recycling aluminum takes a whole lot less energy than mining it. First you have to strip mine it, then transport it half way across the globe, then refine it with electrolysis (which takes a huge amount of energy), then you have to melt it down, ship it to various companies where they melt it down again into their products.

With recycling, all that has to be done is grinding the metal, melting it down and shipping it back to companies that use aluminum. It save a huge amount of energy not having to mine it and use electrolysis to refine it.

Basically, yes. Theoratically, no.
You use pretty much energy to recycle something comapred to mining/getting some new of the same material.
On the other side, if we all were recycling, we wouldn't need to mine the stuff, hence we won't run out of it.
