I just received some RAM from another member here and when I tested out both, the screen output was blank. When I tested the "working" one everything worked as normal.
However, when the 'bad" one was tested, it reverted to the same thing as when two were tested. Now, I understood that if RAM was BAD, it wouldn't even turn on.
I would make sure you are setting all the timings and voltages to whatever the manufacturer recommends. Then, install one stick and run memtest to see if it passes. If so, repeat with the other stick. I usually do 3-4 passes of memtest.
