i know that CPU overclocking that's done through bios, won't reset when you reformat your computer.

but does GPU OC'ing reset when you reformat, since it's done through a program in windows?

Yes any form of software overclocking will reset the GPU back to default clocks.

Yes, I suppose it would (it definitely would). But I hope you're not considering reformatting just so that you can reset your gpu clock speeds. It's very easy to set back up, just write down the speeds and voltages your gpu is using on a piece of paper if you want to keep them.

Why did you ask about reformatting in the first place?

If you need to reformat for any reason go ahead and do so, overclocking your GPU to the same it was before is simple.

You can close MSI AB if you want, but make sure you have a set fan speed and it will keep the settings till you restart your PC.
There really isn't any reason to close it though.
