You 945gc chipset motherboard will not support core2 quad,it will support maximum a core2 duo.
But still if u upgrade it to a core2 duo,u will see huge improvement

Is there a risk to damage a processor Core2Dou (like E6600) if i install it in my motherboard ? Due to its probable incompatibility
as far as im concerned the it shouldn't damage it because it should work fine.
