Does the GTX 260 Core 216 get good PPD?

I have the option of getting a GTX 260 Core 216 for $40, and I would like to know if it is worth getting it for folding. I know "every little piece of hardware helps", but I actually want to know if it gets good enough PPD for me to justify buying it.

You mean from the B-stock?
Yup, that's exactly where I mean.
I have one here underwater, from what I remember it got less than 10k PPD, and the power consumption was fairly high so I didn't fold on it.
Simple answer, no

Long - It will get PPD, but at this point in time, it is well outclassed, and the power to run it isnt worth it IMO

^ This.
OK, thanks for the input guys, I will just keep going for a more expensive one, but that will take a few months and by then they will probably have something better than a 560 Ti even. If not, I will have that in 14 months unless the 580 Classifieds come down in price a little.
When I had my card's shader overclocked out the butt I was getting about 9k.
Ya the amount it takes to power it and the rest of the rig I would be putting it in would exceed the 500W PSU, so it isn't going to happen even if I was going to buy it. Probably should have checked that before I asked.

Edit: Anubis1127, would you mind checking your PM's? Just a few questions about other things.

Hrmmm, I don't see any new ones. Let me look at old ones.
Sorry, just sent it, probably should have sent it before I said check them. I'm tired and a little out of it.
For its time? Yes. Nowadays? Not by a long shot. I have two of them actually, and when i turn them loose on some work units they only reel in about 8500-9000PPD. On top of that they cant work on larger work units.

If you really must crank out the PPD cheaply, get some GTS 450s. Fermi units recently have been really really good recently, and as fermi is much more power efficient vs GT200 when folding, power and cooling costs are lower as well. A single GTS 450 should theoretically get you over 10-13k PPD using current work units and do it using half the power of a GTX 260
Not sure if you're interested, but I have a couple GTX 295's that can get anywhere between 15-20k PPD depending on the WU's/overclock. Looking to part with those for about $100/piece. Let me know if you're interested.
Kepler is where its at in terms of PPD / Watt on the green side. Tahiti is where its at on the red side. Older hardware will cost you the same amount of money to run out of your pocket, but won't get nearly the productivity.
Becomingmass, a member here, and also a really good friend of mine has a broken GTS 450 that he had been using for a PhysX card, but now that it's broken it is just sitting in his room. Maybe when he moves in October or whenever he is moving, he will be willing to dump it off to me. I could probably take off the heatsink and fan (the broken part), and put either an Arctic air cooler on it, or maybe even grab a universal GPU block and a rad and pump. I find it really sad that it is more likely that a card I would use for folding would get water cooled before any of my main rig even gets a little wet.
Why not just fold on the 660ti? That should do ~60k+ PPD on core 17 WUs.
I do, all day when I am not doing a render or gaming. Although, I do renders a lot, and game a lot more. And it still gets anywhere from 55K to 65K depending on how much of each I do in a day.

Ah, haha, right on.

Mine is getting 85k ppd on 8900s which makes the 660ti the best bang for buck gpu for folding.
