Lozl random question.

Does the i7 920 come with thermal paste? Just wanna make sure because I am impatient and don't want to have to wait to put the system together for something like that

It will come with a stock fan that will have thermal paste on it. Don't expect great temperatures, though.
Yeah it will. IT comes with the stock cooler.

edit:
I never get first reply.

What about liquid cooling? Does the waterblock have it pre-applied?

This one is the best, but Shin etsu, Artic Silver 5, and MX-2 are also great. Not as top as the one suggested but still good.

OCZ Freeze or Shin Etsu are good Thermal Paste's, AS5 is not that great anymore, it is a good cheap one, but not the best.

Confirmed to be better than AS5. And of course there's always IC Diamond

edit: duh forgot OCZ Freeze. Also not bad

I said that.

But still better than the thermal paste. I am switching (will switch) to Shin-etsu wants I have access to my kazuho-chan.

The way you apply the TIM also affects the temperature too. Not sure if it also applies to the i7 processors though.

the cpu comes with a stock heatsink fan that has thermal strip paste pre-applied on the heatsink.

EDIT: I use TX-2, got better temps then AS5, MX-2 & zalman TIM
I have mx-2 , but to be honest you probably won't see much of a difference by just switching thermal pastes (unless the one you had prior was absolutely horrid)
