Alrighty guys,
I am just bringing this up because I am wondering if the mod I am going to do will end up burning down my house. What I am about to tell you requires great maturity on your part, and you must promise not to laugh, or I will cry and run away like a girlie-man.

I am modding my Dell.

There, I said it. Anyhow, as many of you may know, Dell sells a lot of proprietary materials. The fan connectors on their motherboards are no different. They are actually 5-pin molex similar to what cd-rom audio cables used to look like.

Anyhow, the fans that Dell has used in the case are big, scary, 92mm x 38mm deep Delta fans. The rear ones are even rated for 2 AMPS! Now I am wondering, just how much current is going into those fans all the time? I know that the 120mm vantec stealths that I plan to connect to the mobo can only withstand something like .6 amps or something like that. I have the connectors, I have the know-how and elbow grease to do this mod but I am wondering if it is going to cause some electrical fire. Any thoughts?

Alright, yeah, I know the fans are 12V all around, but the current those things could take was crazy. This should be tight, Im actually taking out my noisy nidecs and putting in some slower, quieter fans to blow air out of my case, and across my radiator. All this and no bootup fan errors!
