Dorm room, how to mount speakers cleanly?

I'm in a dorm room, and I want to mount my Z-5500 speakers on the wall. However, I'm not allowed to damage the wall in any way (drilling). What should I do?

You might be able to use some self-adhesive hooks, but the paint on the wall is a bond-breaker. No matter how good the adhesive is on the hook, the paint may very well peel away.

Perhaps you could get some floor stands.

How about the ceiling... can you drill on that?
if so... hang 'em.

I'd try the self-adhesive hooks route. I can't see the paint being a problem unless someone is trying to hang from the speaker - the paint should be plenty strong enough to hold up a speaker.

You maybe out of luck I think the only way to securly hang them is by drilling. I don't think u can use double sided heavy duty tape because it could mess up the walls.

The hook idea is a good one, but I'd like a more solid mount so that they are pointing in the right direction consistently.

Floor stands is probably not gonna happen, too expensive.

The ceiling actually is full of holes, I don't know why--that's the style of ceiling it is I suppose. Hanging would be alright, but might be tricky to make it point correctly/it probably has to be hanging upside down.

Are your walls completely bare? My dorm room had some sort of rail along the wall with cork for hanging posters, so I looped zip ties underneath to mount my speakers. There really is no good way to mount without doing damage. I say Just put in some wood screws and patch it up with something at the end of the semester. The majority of people did this. Hell, we broke out the cordless drill on multiple occasions.

Edit: Hooks are a no-go. I've even seen tape peel paint. I think you would be better off with a small hole you can patch or that would be overlooked rather than a big patch of missing paint that's much more obvious and difficult to repair.
BILLY MAYS HERE FOR THE HERCULES HOOK!

When I was in college, the walls were always Colegate White. Numerous holes in my walls would up filled with toothpaste.

This reminds me of something. We had a kid across the hall with a massive stereo, and he had the bright idea of using a staple gun about every 3 inches to run his speaker wire along the wall. Other furniture and accessories were screwed to the walls. He must have gone through half of my toothpaste patching it up. It wasn't pretty, or convincing.

This! Drill away and fill with toothpaste. Touch up with paint if you feel its far too noticable. (many places that sell paint will offer a small amount for free[or real cheap] to see if thats the color you need/want)

Wall mounted wire covers will help with cleaning up/camouflaging the wire mess also, and can be had for cheap (or just use white wire)

Any adhesive strong enough to mount speakers to the wall is more than strong enough to tear the paint off.

Does using something like goo gone advesive remover or alcohol allow you to release it without damaging the wall?
(never tried on a painted surface)

Though i would have to agree that if it'll hold the speaker it will take the paint with it.
